Improving Glaucoma Patient Compliance
Patient compliance may seem like a factor many medical professionals cannot control; however there are steps that physicians can take to improve the level to which a patient follows prescribed treatment. SLT is a cost effective, low side effect treatment for glaucoma patients versus some of the other treatments that can lower patient compliance. The comparison between different glaucoma treatments and patient compliance will be drawn and discussed in this article.
Laser Treatment for Scars and Keloids
Scars can be broadly classified as hypertrophic scars, keloids, atrophic scars, and acne scars. Prior reviews of laser scar revision techniques have been organized according to the type of scar. This review presents an overview of laser principles as they pertain to the treatment of scars followed by a synopsis of scar treatment organized by laser type to facilitate the busy practitioner’s utilization of available resources.
The Benefits of a Multi-wavelength PatternScanLaser
The impetus behind adopting new technology is not merely to have the latest and greatest equipment. It is more about being able to practice medicine at the most advanced level and improving the patient’s experience whenever possible. This article applies that logic to the assessment of the benefits delivered by the Multi-wavelength PatternScanLaser.
577 nm Wavelength System Delivers Safety
While the original diode lasers had revolutionary capabilities when they debuted, the systems were somewhat problematic for patient comfort. The high wavelengths caused pain when near-infrared light would pass through blood and was absorbed by the RPE. This article discusses The Pascal Streamline 577 from Topcon Medical, a solid-state, yellow- wavelength system that gives surgeons full control over laser parameters.
Mphi5
he Mphi5 from Cutting Edge Laser Technologies is truly the complete solution in laser therapy with its newly redesigned and configurable components. Among its stand-out features It combines both the multi diode hand piece - designed for treating a targeted area with precision; and the basic hand piece - to treat larger areas
